In search of boxes.

I'm in search of shallow boxes, preferably antique or distressed. Any size and colour will do.

Some examples:

If you would like to donate, I would be overjoyed. I can do the picking-up.

Thank you again. The envelope distribution is on its way. Printing 200 today!

  1. I love the concept of this project, and would love to participate. Is it possible to get an envelope? If so, how?

Last year I contributed some of my wishes to Denis Brown's art concept: "A Thousand Wishes".

Denis wrote (about his own project): "It is not important for others to read a person's wish, but I hope it is helpful for the wisher to release their wish, to express it, not hold it inside. To let it go."

I love the range, scope and exciting possibilities raised by bringing in the World as Individuals, as Contributors to our art creation. And giving each contributor something very real back in return (which your project certainly will), is a special gift indeed.

Wishes for good things for you,
    Kit

  2. Dear Kit,

I'm so very glad to hear from you.

My hopes are to make others' burdens become my own. I'm so often tired of sitting in my own inner-conflict that I thought it was time to gain some perspective. People need to know that having burdens are okay and that it often helps us thrive, become inspired and above all, learn. Rainer M. Rilke said that there is no poverty in the world because our inner most happenings are worth all our love; a grandeur and a burden, and that without it, we miss a big part of ourselves. However, there is a time and place when thoughts, notions, emotions be left to rest. It's easier to trust in the anonymous, to present without being judged.

I received two letters today in the mail. So light and little but filled with such heavy honesty. I really felt the energy transfer to me, and how paradoxically wonderful it felt. It relieves me to have to carry someone one else's baggage rather than my own. I'm so privileged I almost want to become a humanist.

Thank you for your wishes and contribution. I only wish you the same. I could mail you an envelope if you like. However, since the instructions are visible on the previous entry, by all means use a regular envelope to send in your item and note. Let me know what you wish to do.

I'll be posting some of the letters soon. I'm still working on the concept and box presentation, and would like to get a few more before I start, but keep checking back and telling people. As long as they have this address, they won't need the instruction envelopes. I'm no mender but I have faith that some good will come of this.

You are so kind. I appreciate your comments.

    Be well.

  3. Denis Brown. What a lovely idea. I will keep a close eye. So happy to hear others are doing something similar.
